Volunteer
You can help make the wishes of special children come true in your local community when you become a volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Connecticut. We invite you to join our family, whether you can give a few hours each month or a few days each year.
There are countless ways to get involved as a volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation®.
Make-A-Wish volunteers help with a number of important tasks that fall into four basic categories. If you’d like to join the Make-A-Wish team and help share the power of a wish®, we invite you to explore our different opportunities and choose one that best fits your interests and talents!
1. Wish Granting
Wish Granting Volunteers visit with one of our Wish children and his or her family, and help the
child to determine and grant whatever that very special Wish may be. The Wish Granting
Volunteers are the primary information gatherers and monthly communicators between the
Wish family and our staff. 2. Public Speaking
If you are a talented public speaker, then this is the opportunity for you! Our Public Speaking
Volunteers represent the Make-A-Wish Foundation at events across the stage by sharing
words of thanks to supporters and fundraisers, or assisting in recruiting new volunteers.
3. Event Support
Event supporters help to share the power of a wish® by attending our fundraising events and
working registration tables, auction tables, and countless other opportunities that make
each event special and unique.
4. Administration
You can support our staff by volunteering your time and administrative talents, either
right here in our office or remotely! Projects can range from phone calls and copies
to assisting in mailings and internal event support.
We also offer several internship opportunities throughout the Fall, Spring, and
Summer semesters.
